How To Use The Nursing Bracelet™
What is The Nursing Bracelet™?
The Nursing Bracelet™ is a wearable nursing log used to remind a mother or caregiver of a baby’s feeding times. For the breastfeeding mom, it is also used to remind her which breast she fed from last.
How do I use it?
The Nursing Bracelet™ works in four ways:
- To keep track of which breast your baby fed from last: with one easy action, simply move the bracelet from wrist to wrist.
- To record what time your baby last fed: move the charm between the beads to mark a time to the nearest 15 minutes OR
- To mark when your baby should next feed, OR
- To record the total number of feeds in any single day or night: place the charm after the relevant number bead.
Go to how to use for more details.
Can I use it if I’m bottle feeding?
Absolutely. Tracking your baby’s feeds is as important with bottle fed babies as breast fed babies, and while it may be easier to see how much a baby has drunk when they are bottle fed, establishing a feeding pattern may still take some weeks or months. The Nursing Bracelet™ nursing log will help you time those feeds.
Can I wear it at night?
Yes, you will find it especially helpful at night, as it is more difficult to remember when your baby last fed if you are sleep-deprived or only half-awake. However, we do not recommend co-sleeping with The Nursing Bracelet™, as it contains small parts.
Can’t I just write down my baby’s feed times in a notebook?
Yes, but The Nursing Bracelet™ has the advantage of being with you at all times, so is just one less thing to remember every time you go into your baby’s room at night or go out of the house. It provides a quick and discrete way to check which side you should breastfeed from next.
Who makes it?
The Nursing Bracelet™ wearable nursing log is brought to you by Unique Mums LLC, 3 Brooklyn, NY moms who formed a company to make useful, quality products for parents and caregivers. The bracelet is assembled in New York by members of AHRC (Association for the Help of Retarded Children). This organization provides opportunities for adults and children with developmental disabilities, promoting personal growth, satisfaction, independence and full participation in society. What is The Nursing Bracelet™ made from?
We have two styles of bracelet. The original is made from fire polished glass beads and white glass number beads. The semi precious bracelet uses semi precious stones and non-leaded pewter number beads. The charm is solid brass with an imitation rhodium coating, and the wire is made from stainless steel. The pins are made from base metal.
Why are the beads strung loosely on the wire?
This makes it possible for the user to position the charm easily at any point on the bracelet. If the beads were strung tightly (like a regular piece of jewelry) moving the charm would be very difficult.
